- Before starting up IOPEditor please read this.
-
- In order to fit everything into the window I had to make it reasonably large (480x350). This shouldn't
- cause any problems unless you are using a very small workbench screen. I find it just right on my
- 1024x768 Workbench screen :).
-
- You can change the font by specifying it in the settings file using a text editor (see Help Guide),
- however the GUI is not sizeable so you will need to choose a font that fits. I personally use 11pt bold
- XEN as I think it looks good. I may consider writing an MUI version of this program should I ever find
- the time.
-
- The printing option is very basic, it appears to work fine with my setup (Amiga 4000 030/50 and Epson
- 500) but I hope to improve the output at some time once I've learnt more on the subject.
-
- The program requires the AmigaGuide library to get online help. I have had occasions when the library
- will not load and so the help was unavailable. I need to investigate further into this matter but in most
- cases it works. The help is context sensitive to the tab page you currently have selected. Once you have
- entered the AmigaGuide help you must exit it first before you can continue with the program.
-
- The program uses a recursive sort to when sorting brushes and textures. This can result in memory
- problems if you have hundreds of brushes or textures, however I have an object with over 100 burshes
- which did not cause a problem. The sort was written this way to speed it up. For slower Amigas you
- may have to wait a few seconds for a sort if there are lots of textures/brushes. The problem may now be
- cleared up after some minor changes but this is just a warning in case you do get an error during a sort.
-
- The program will always create a backup of the original if you try to overwrite it, however it is
- adviseable to make your own backups if the work is very important. Also make a backup of the settings
- files as these can easily get overwritten.
-
- This program allows you to also edit Staging files. I have not yet tried converting a PC staging/project
- file for the Amiga, whilst in theory this should be possible, the effects are likely to be incompatable
- between the two. I have no up todate information on these files so whilst this program does allow you
- to change paths of objects and effects you may still have problems. Basically try it and see if it works.
- If anyone has any specs on the Staging files please let me know.
-
- The program has been tested on an A4000 with 16Mb, I believe I have eliminated any bugs but with all
- software I may have overlooked something. Please feel free to contact me with any problems, comments,
- suggestions etc.
